Tardis

TARDIS is a registry for patients with RA on biological (b) and targeted synthetic (ts) DMARDs that has been set up as a collaboration between KBVR/SRBR and RIZIV with the support of the mutuality’s.

The registry data, including disease outcome parameters and detailed medication history, are regularly being collected via the TARDIS platform, a web-application in the eHealth environment that is managed by RIZIV and serves also as a tool to request reimbursement for b/tsDMARDs.

The members of the TARDIS working group are closely interacting with RIZIV, Sciensano and other governmental organizations, to secure the practical operation of the TARDIS platform and promote the further development of the TARDIS registry.

In line with a service level agreement between KBVR/SRBR and RIZIV and with the help from Sciensano, regularly updated reports on the uptake of the different categories of b/tsDMARDs and biosimilars in Belgian RA patients are being made available for the general public on the Healthstat website .

Together with a representative from RIZIV, members of the TARDIS working group from KBVR/SRBR constitute the TARDIS Steering Committee, which is responsible for evaluating and approving requests to use TARDIS data for scientific purposes or to produce more detailed descriptive reports.

An important task of the TARDIS working group is initiating and promoting research initiatives based on data from the TARDIS registry. The working group is also responsible for appointing and supervising data scientists that have access to the TARDIS database in the secured eHealth environment.

On behalf of the KBVR/SRBR, members of the working group are actively involved in setting up and conducting studies based on TARDIS data, also seeking collaboration with other international registries. This has resulted in several presentations at national and international conferences and scientific publications.

Last but not least, research groups led by KBVR/SRBR members are kindly invited to submit study proposals of their own. These will be evaluated by the TARDIS working group and presented for approval to the steering committee if in line with the required scientific and ethical standards.
